Basically, it runs on Xubuntu, its packed with freeware and it is about the size of a paperback novel like Dan Brown’s “Angels & Demons”.  It has no onboard storage, but you can attach anything you want via USB.  It has a monitor output and ethernet as well.  Its meant to surf the web, but one can only imagine the possibilities for what you could do with this thing.

In fact, here’s the email I got today:

SPECS: AMD Geode LX700 (x86), 256 MB RAM, 4x USB 2.0 ports, Audio in & out, 100baseT Ethernet, VGA output, Size: 9.3 x 2.7 x 15 cm, Power: DC in 9V – 1,5A, Weight: 280 gr

Man that table was a bitch to create in wordpress’ code editor.  The pics/links, on the right of the table, will take you to all the info you need.

It probably ships with a 220v power source, but the “Power: DC in 9V – 1,5A” spec means that you could plug any DC adaptor in that you want.  You could even make a battery pack out of nine volt batteries, with a little soldering and tweaking.

The only downside is the teeny tiny amount of RAM.  At 256mbs of RAM the machine’s abilities are limited to the sleekest of software.  However, with something this small you shouldn’t expect to edit a movie or do hardcore image editing.  As for hacking, with the right set of modules on a USB stick, you could hide this thing wherever you want with a usb WiFi stick, and just leave it there to hack remotely or collect data.  Industrial espionage on the cheap?  Maybe, but that would be illegal.

Well, that’s enough out of me for now.  I’ll keep you updated.
