So I was stumbling around the net and I found this website for a tiny ass linux desktop machine.  None are ready for purchase but it looks pretty kewl.

Here’s what it looks like:

linutop desklinutop in hand

Its friggin tiny!!  But check out the specs:

– AMD Geode
– 512 MB ROM
– 256 MB RAM
– 4x USB 2.0 ports
– audio in & out
– 100baseT Ethernet
– VGA output
– Size: 9.3 x 2.7 x 15 cm
– Weight: 280 gr
– USB2 , Wifi connection, Flat pannel,

And the software that comes with it:

– AbiWord Word Processor
– Evince PDF reader
– Firefox Web browser
– Gaim instant messenger
– Totem media player

Notice all the software is open source freeware.

Imagine the possibilities for this little thing!  Its like the mac mini only totally open source! I am using way to many exclamation points.  Anyways, this thing looks to be awesome, if the price is right…

I’m gonna email their info center and see what the prices might be like.

Thank you for the sensible critique. Me and my neighbor were just preparing to do a little research on this. We got a grab a book from our local library but I think I learned more clear from this post. I am very glad to see such fantastic info being shared freely out there.
