This is the only fwd that I have actually read, of late. Many of the little blurbs are old or stale, but they were good for a nice chuckle. In fact one of the little blurbs gave me a T-Shirt idea.

I love freedom of speech and freedom of religion. You got some pretty funny bumper sticker ideas.
Religion – 1. something one believes in and follows devotedly; a point or matter of ethics or conscience. 2. a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe 3. specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects.
It depends on the dictionary you read as to the exact wordage of the definition but you can at least get the concept from the above posting.
I love how liberals want no religion in government, lol, no “ethics or conscience” then complain about war because it is “immoral.” Lol, there is no such thing as immorality without religion.
You guys are so funny, good thing you live in the US and can voice your stupidity. If we actually followed the belief system of “God-free evolution” then the elderly, homeless and retarded should be put to death… and ya, the stupid. You had better pray to God that we never truly have a “religion free” government. Otherwise, you would be killed!

Just wondering cause you seem to be extrapolating alot from a joke. That is to say, this post was supposed to be funny, cause GWB looks like a monkey, and not giving him a banana wold discourage his rather rude behavior over the last two terms in office. Its absurdest humor, as in its absurd that you took the time to time out of your day to write that poorly thought out response.
However, since you brought it up, why do you equate not having a religious bias towards Christianity with poor ethics and lack of conscience? I’m gonna take another, after assuming that you call yourself a Christian, wild leaping guess and say that you seem to be a smidge close minded. You do realize that people can be “non-believers” and still have good ethics and conscience… right?
Take a look at ol’ Ben Franklin. He was a Unitarian and questioned the divinity of Jesus, but he seemed an all right bloke, being a founding father and all.
Either you ignore or you forget that the reason church and state were separated at our country’s conception, was because of the almost certain abuse of power that comes along with a theocracy. The creators of America never intended to fully implement a marriage of church and state, because they had already seen how a corrupt power structure based on Christianity could destroy millions and millions of lives. Spanish Inquisition, The Crusades, people thinking that witchcraft actually exists… I could go on but we all get the point.
I have lived in a true theocracy and let me tell you that the leaders of that country are neither morally “good” nor do they appear to have a “good” conscience. I’ve also seen what outright banning religion can do to a country and its people. Religion has its place, and its in the home, not in any government.
One last question though, you didn’t break 1000 on the SAT’s, so don’t you think you’d be darwinized along with the rest of the idiots in a “religion-free” state?

As a libertarian, the one reason why I don’t want religion in our government is because our founding fathers set America up TO BE THAT WAY! We broke away from British rule because of the choking effect it had on the Empire. On a more personal level, you clowns can’t even agree on a unified belief or sect- you have Mormons, Baptists, Pentacostals and trillions of other denominations. If you can’t even agree on one belief, how on Gods green earth are you expecting to rule as one government?
