George Bush, Worst World Leader In History? YES!!

The Blog | Cenk Uygur: George Bush Will Live in Infamy for What He Has Done to Iraq | The Huffington Post

I am going to give this my official seal of approval:

George W. Bush will live in infamy for what he has done in Iraq. 161 dead. 83 dead. 53 dead. 16 tortured. 17 decapitated. Shiite doctors dumping the bodies of Sunni patients they have murdered. Burn marks. Executions. Torture chambers. Revenge killings. Family members shot in front of their wives and children.
These are all the headlines from Iraq in just the last couple of days.If this isn’t a civil war, what in the world is? Anywhere from 50,000-650,000 Iraqi civilians have been killed in the last three and half years. Let that sink in for a second. That’s a gigantic number. The human toll in Iraq has been unspeakable. And none of it had to happen. This was a war of choice. And it has been one of the worst choices ever made by a world leader.

George Bush now threatens to go from one of the worst leaders in US history to one of the worst leaders in world history.

Its a horrid shame what Bush did to Iraq and its people, and for what?  What has been accomplished?  NOTHING!!!   FUCKING NOTHING!!!  Oh unless you count a whole lot of dead people as an accomplishment.  Sorry its just this whole thing really pisses me off, and I feel like I haven’t done enought to at least try and stop it.
I must say right now is a time to reflect up on the words of “WAR”, the song.  Note the lyrics in between the refrains!!  They seem to fit today like a glove.  “War! It ain’t nothing but a heartbreaker, War! Friend only to the undertaker, War! It’s an enemy to all mankind, The thought of war blows my mind — War has caused unrest in the younger generation, Induction then destruction-Who wants to die?”  So…Anyone?

Fuck War, and Buck Fush!

Here’s all the War lyrics (Note I BOLDED the parts that seem pertinant):

War! huh-yeah
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing

War! huh-yeah
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing
Say it again y’all

War! huh good God
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me?

Ohhh? War! I despise
Because it means destruction?
Of innocent lives

War means tears
to thousands of mothers eyes
When their sons go to fight
and lose their lives

I said – War! Huh Good God y’all
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing
Say it again

War! Whoa, Lord …
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me?

War! It ain’t nothing but a heartbreaker
War! Friend only to the undertaker
War! It’s an enemy to all mankind
The thought of war blows my mind

War has caused unrest in the younger generation
Induction then destruction-
Who wants to die?

Ohhh? War Good God y’all
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing
Say it, Say it, Say it

War! Uh-huh Yeah – Huh!
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me?

War! It ain’t nothing but a heartbreaker
War! It’s got one friend, that’s the undertaker
War has shattered many a young mans dreams
Made him disabled bitter and mean
Life is much to precious to spend fighting wars these days
War can’t give life, it can only take it away

War! Huh Good God y’all
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing
Say it again

War! Whoa, Lord …
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me?

War! It ain’t nothing but a heartbreaker
War! Friend only to the undertaker
Peace Love and Understanding;
tell me, is there no place for them today?
They say we must fight to keep our freedom
But Lord knows there’s got to be a better way

War! Huh Good God y’all
What is it good for?
You tell me
Say it, Say it, Say it

War! Huh Good God y’all
What is it good for?
Stand up and shout it.

Masters of War
by Bob Dylan

Come you masters of war
You that build all the guns
You that build the death planes
You that build the big bombs
You that hide behind walls
You that hide behind desks
I just want you to know
I can see through your masks

You that never done nothin’
But build to destroy
You play with my world
Like it’s your little toy
You put a gun in my hand
And you hide from my eyes
And you turn and run farther
When the fast bullets fly

Like Judas of old
You lie and deceive
A world war can be won
You want me to believe
But I see through your eyes
And I see through your brain
Like I see through the water
That runs down my drain

You fasten the triggers
For the others to fire
Then you set back and watch
When the death count gets higher
You hide in your mansion
As young people’s blood
Flows out of their bodies
And is buried in the mud

You’ve thrown the worst fear
That can ever be hurled
Fear to bring children
Into the world
For threatening my baby
Unborn and unnamed
You ain’t worth the blood
That runs in your veins

How much do I know
To talk out of turn
You might say that I’m young
You might say I’m unlearned
But there’s one thing I know
Though I’m younger than you
Even Jesus would never
Forgive what you do

Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul

And I hope that you die
And your death’ll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And I’ll watch while you’re lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I’ll stand o’er your grave
‘Til I’m sure that you’re dead

War Pigs
by Black Sabbath

Generals gathered in their masses
Just like witches at black masses
Evil minds that plot destruction
Sorcerers of deaths construction
In the fields the bodies burning
As the war machine keeps turning
Death and hatred to mankind
Poisoning their brainwashed minds, oh lord yeah!

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to the poor

Time will tell on their power minds
Making war just for fun
Treating people just like pawns in chess
Wait till their judgement day comes, yeah!

Now in darkness, world stops turning
As the war machine keeps burning
No more war pigs of the power
Hand of God has sturck the hour
Day of judgement, God is calling
On their knees, the war pigs crawling
Begging mercy for their sins
Satan, laughing, spreads his wings
All right now!

@ Angry Hippy
Pearl Jam did a sweet cover of Masters of War. You can almost feel the hate for Bush coming out of your speakers.

Not to nit-pick, becuase I definitely believe in the value of a single person’s life being important but “50,000-650,000” that’s quite a range of unknowns.

I’m not a Bush supporter, and I’m not a warhawk, but something about Hussein and his sons’ torturous regime didn’t seem helpful either, what I think we should watch for to determine if Bush did anything in Iraq is whether or not Hussein is replaced by another Iraqi tyrant–be it small or large.

And no we shouldn’t police the world, and yes perhaps entering Iraq was a mistake, but let’s not recreate the “pulling out” sin of Vietnam.

18 10 2006

pulling out of Vietnam was the best thing we ever did for that country. if you don’t think we should police the world, you would agree. what are we fighting for, i ask. it doesn’t benefit you or i. unless we are securing our petroleum resources for the coming peak oil crisis. certainly actions in iraq can’t prevent 19 nuts with boxcutters. if some tyrant wants to kill his own people for his own reason, that’s the UN’s problem, not my taxpayer dollar problem

The reason I say pulling out of Vietnam was a sin, was because of the millions of deaths that it caused the Veitnamese that were in league with the United States, we made a commitment and didn’t hold up to it and they, not we, suffered a great loss for it. 80,000 people is an unacceptable loss for the US, but our pull out caused over a million to die.

If we as America commit to something we should hold to that commitment, so as to not create the greater evil of valuing our own lives over that of another countries citizens. I mean in the end, we are all born people, equally inhertants of the right to live and breathe, but not all equally able.

For me it’s a humanitarian issue, not a political one, nor an issue of oil. If we pull out of Iraq now, will the country have a worse tyrant as a ruler, are we the worse tyrant? Will more die with or without US support? Is our support the kind of support Iraq needs?

21 10 2006

A couple of points. No arguments one way or the other. Just points.

1. We are technically still fighting Vietnam, only a “ceasfire” was signed.
2. The Vietnam conflict was actually started by the French, the US was dumb enough to come in and stop the “domino effect”. It was really a playground for the US and Russia to flex their muscle without actually fighting.
3. Iraq is purely the giant cluster fuck of the US. Bush sr. never went in because he knew there would be a HUGE power vacuum.
4. Iraq is three cultures (essentially what should be three sovereign countries) all slapped together thanks to post WWII imperialism.
5. The amount of Iraqi civilian death’s is already half a million. (Depending on who you ask) Our “support” doesn’t seem to be all that helpfull.

Those were the random fun facts that I was thinking while reading both of your comments. Iraq and Vietnam are not analogus. Its not that simple. Nothing is really. Both situations were and ARE fucked. We have our dick stuck in the chiken. Now what? That’s the problem. Is there even a right answer? Stay, and more American troops will die. Leave, and Iraq will just collapse into factions fighting to the end of probably millions of people lives. What do we do? I dunno.

To start we should, at the very least, impeach Bush and get rid of his entire administration. Then beg for forgivness on the international stage of humiliation. We can just wing it from there.
