Darren Aronofsky Presents: The Fountain

Fantastic Fest Presents : Fountain, The

If there is one film I have been absolutly dying to see its this one.

The Fountain Png THE FOUNTAIN is a fabled film from visionary director Darren Aronofsky of PI and REQUIEM FOR A DREAM fame. This film has been a monkey on Darren’s back for quite some time now. Originally set to move forward in 2002 with Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett, at a far larger budget, the project fell apart when Brad Pitt left the film, leaving Darren in the midst of a shattered pre-production. Then – the project came back together at a smaller financial scope with Hugh Jackman and the amazing Rachel Weisz. The result has blown away all who have been lucky enough to see this film.

The stunning visual effects were not dependent upon the power of the computer solely – but Aronofsky decided to bring a micro-photography expert to photograph chemical reactions in petri dishes at a microscopic level – to give the effects a look we’ve never seen before.

Prepare to have your mind blown, this is an incredible opportunity for an amazing experience. Do not miss this!

Synopsis: THE FOUNTAIN is an odyssey about one man’s thousand-year struggle to save the woman he loves. His epic journey begins in 16th century Spain, where conquistador Tomas Creo (Hugh Jackman) commences his search for the Tree of Life, a mythical entity believed to grant eternal life to those who drink of its sap. As modern-day scientist Tommy Creo, he desperately struggles to find a cure for the cancer that is killing his beloved wife Isabel (Rachel Weisz). Traveling through deep space as a 26th century astronaut, Tom begins to grasp the mysteries of life that have consumed him for more than a century.

I can’t wait!! I think I’m gonna piss myself in anticipation.

I agree with Phoenix… This movie is not for everyone, but for me however it wasn’t just another movie, it was a mindblowing experience accompanied by one of the better musical scores in history of cinema. imho.

Do not listen to others, expect it to be like Pi or Requiem , do not pay attantion to the trailer 😛
