Pope ‘meant no offence’ to Islam = Bullshit!!

BBC NEWS | World | Europe | Pope ‘meant no offence’ to Islam

Here’s all you need to know. Below is the intro to the article:

The Vatican has denied that Pope Benedict XVI intended any offence to the Muslim religion, after a speech touching on the concept of holy war.Speaking in Germany, the Pope quoted a 14th Century Christian emperor who said the Prophet Muhammad had brought the world only “evil and inhuman” things.

What in the name of all that is unsacred and terrifying did P Benny think this quote would do for muslims? Make them feel al warm inside? I knew this Pope was a Nazi.

Can you impeach a pope?

Maybe he was just quoting this passage to show how some have used hatred to speak about religion. It seems that was the crux of his speech at least. Not the best quote to use, but it does demonstrate that there are negative views of Islam that have existed for centuries. He should have said that this quote represents what I want to speak against, but I don’t have the full transcript to the speech so I don’t know the context. Anyway, we should examine the full speech before attempting to take a quote out of context. The reactions to this seem a bit “knee-jerk” to me. I don’t think the pope is trying to restart the crusades here. That’s Bush’s job.

@ Akash
I don’t understand your somment. I was agreeing with the Muslims view of the Pope’s speech.

Religion is not gangsta rap. It is a personla ideal that one should keep to one’s self.

I keep mine to me. You keep yours to you.

Note: I have no religion, but you get the point.

Perhaps you should read the actual speech? It’s way more interesting than the stupid outrage that surrounds it…

Should the Pope have learned to shut up?

Should the Pope have exercised his right to remain silent?
