• Data brokers are willing to sell even your most sensitive information to paying customers, some of them crooks.
• When CR staffers asked to see their own files, they received scant information. One report contained 31 errors.
• The federal government is a steady customer of the data collectors, but there’s no way to know what it collects or exactly how much it pays.
• Pretexters, who lie to get information about you and sell it to anybody, operate largely free of regulation.
If Choicepoint was a hacker then they’d be in jail, but because they are a business entity G W Bush protects them like his secret stash of coke.
However, thanks to privacy rights clearing house there are some online brokers that offer an “opt out” option..if you contact them…all..sometimes by mail only!!

Here’s the real kicker, in order to get your data removed from the opt out services, you have to prove that you are you by giving them all your data?!?!?!?!?
You can only half protect yourself, and with alot of effort on your part. The real solution…hack them all into oblivion (just a suggestion).
